What you will be doing…

Jet2.com is delighted to announce the opening of an exciting opportunity for Pilot Apprentices to join our Team. Working with and understanding all of our business areas, the Pilot Apprentice programme provides an outstanding opportunity to develop a long term career with an award winning Leisure Travel Business. You will have an enviable ability to develop relationships across Flight Operations and the business as a whole, whilst developing your skills and experience in aviation.

The Jet2.com Pilot Apprenticeship scheme has continued to grow over several years, providing fantastic career opportunities for Pilots entering the world of commercial aviation. Throughout your time as a Jet2.com Pilot Apprentice you will receive support and assistance through our dedicated Apprentice Mentoring system  geared towards preparing and developing your skills in order to take the next steps for your Type Rating and beyond. This is an incredibly exciting time for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays. We have recently opened our 8th and 9th UK Bases at Birmingham and London Stansted Airports and have already taken delivery of the first 16 of our 34 brand new B737-800NG aircraft, with more to follow.

The Pilot Apprentice programme will begin at Leeds Bradford International Airport and our Commercial Office in Leeds, where you will undertake a planned schedule geared towards giving you maximum exposure to the full range of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays business areas. This includes (among others) our Contact Centre, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Jet2holidays and Engineering Teams. You will then support a wide range of Operational Teams, undertaking duties as Cabin Crew, Flight Planning and learning the day to day aspects of one of our Crew Rooms.

On successful completion of the Apprenticeship, Jet2.com will provide you with a fully bonded Type Rating, and you will enter the world of commercial aviation as a Second Officer.

Successful candidates will already have a UK Issued Frozen ATPL Pilots Licence, Current Class One Medical and a valid UK driving licence. Along with this, you will have completed an MCC and JOC course and have strong ATPL Theory exam results. You will have also maintained your flying ‘currency’ through training and/or regular flying. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience of office IT systems. In addition, you must be flexible as we may require you to work from any of our 9 UK Bases.

In return, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package with fantastic opportunities for progression in a growing business.

This is a great opportunity to be part of an exciting forward thinking business. We operate scheduled leisure flights to holiday destinations in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and to European Leisure Cities from our 9 UK bases.

Help us to send our all-important customers on holiday with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays!! Pilot
