The Jet2.comPilot Apprentice Scheme has continued to provide fantastic career opportunities for Pilots entering the world of commercial aviation – several of our first Pilot Apprentices have recently been promoted to Captain. Throughout your time as a Jet2.com Pilot Apprentice you will receive support and assistance through our dedicated Apprentice Mentoring system geared towards preparing and developing your skills in order to take the next steps for your Type Rating and beyond. This is an incredibly exciting time for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays as we have recently announced the addition of a new fleet of A321 aircraft which will be operational in early 2020 as we gear up for our busiest ever Summer.
The Pilot Apprentice Scheme will begin at Leeds Bradford International Airport and our Commercial Office in Leeds city centre, where you will undertake a planned schedule geared towards giving you maximum exposure to the full range of business areas. This includes (among others) our Contact Centre, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Jet2holidays and Engineering Teams. This is followed by a short period training and operating as cabin crew to learn how we deliver our VIP Customer Service and work as One Team. You will then support a wide range of Operational Areas, learning and supporting the day to day activities of one of our bases. With regular jump seat opportunities, an in-house JOC Course and funded SEP flying, your flying currency will be maintained in preparation for your Type Rating.
On successful completion of the 9-12 month Apprentice scheme, Jet2.com will provide you with a fully bonded Type Rating, and you will then enter the world of commercial aviation as a Second Officer.
Successful candidates will already have a UK Issued Frozen ATPL Pilots Licence, Current Class One Medical and a valid UK driving licence. Along with this, you will have completed an APS MCC Course or alternatively an MCC and JOC course and will possess strong ATPL Theory exam results. You will have also maintained your flying ‘currency’ through training and/or regular flying. We are currently recruiting for March and April intakes. It is desirable for candidates to be in possession of an Advanced UPRT completion certificate although given current availability of Advanced UPRT courses, this training may be provided by Jet2.com on a case by case basis. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience of office IT systems. In addition, you must be flexible as we may require you to work from any of our 9 UK Bases or 2 overseas bases in Spain.
