First Officer.Flight Deck
In a nutshell
You will operate as First Officer, reporting to and working with the Aircraft Commander to deliver excellence in the safe, efficient and customer focused conduct of a flight.
Day to day
You will support the Aircraft Commander in the operation and management of the flight. You’ll ensure the highest standards of safety and show a strong and broad customer awareness, delighting our customers and able to impact positively on the management of crew morale, discipline, conduct and appearance.
You’ll possess excellent human factors and flight management skills thus enabling you to exchange such advice, information and explanation with the Commander, crew and ground teams as is necessary to successfully operate the flight to the industry leading standards which define Virgin Atlantic Airways.
You will maintain your licence in accordance with the professional and medical standards required by EASA, the CAA and the Company.
You will maintain and improve your already high standards of knowledge of UK and International air legislation and agreed aviation best practices and procedures. You’ll also set high standards for your own development, supported by Virgin Atlantic’s industry leading training and development processes. You’ll need to possess the necessary attributes to be a Commander of a Virgin Atlantic Airways aircraft in the future.
Your actions will maintain and enhance the Virgin Atlantic brand and reputation.
About you
We are looking for First Officers with a minimum experience of 2,500 hours total flying time including at least 2,000 hours on Turbojet aircraft over 40 tonnes maximum take-off weight. Preference will be given to qualified candidates with current Airbus A330/340, Boeing 787 or 777 type ratings with 1,000 hours on type.
You must hold a current UK Class one Medical and a full EASA ATPL licence (UK issue).
You should be able to demonstrate a high level of fluency in English (ICAO level 6 English Proficiency). You will also have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
